Welcome to 'Die Immergrün Musikanten' Website
One evening in the fall of 1997, three musicians with similar interests were sitting around a table talking about putting a band together for an upcoming event at the Lancaster Liederkranz. The goal was to provide some entertainment for the annual Organizations' and Volunteers' Christmas party. So, we rehearsed a few songs for about a half-hour's entertainment to sing and dance to. Thus the musical seed was planted.
On Saturday, December 13, 1997, Tom Markow, Reese Bookmiller and Nancy Pearce performed for the first time as "Das Immergrün Trio." We were very well received, and through the encouragement of many of our friends, the band got a springboard into booking more and more events and dances. As the years went by, and the répertoire grew, so did the band.
In 2008, we added another musician, Thomas "Woody" Pfenninger. This allowed a fuller sound and more diverse instrumentation. Since then, we've become known as Die Immergrün Musikanten. Traditional Volksmusik, Evergreens and Volkstümliche Musik is what we present. Sharing our common interest in the ethnic German, Austrian and Swiss alpine music that we all grew up with, and is what brings us musical fulfillment.
We would like to thank all the clubs and the many individuals who have supported and encouraged us over the years. It is our hope that this site is a dynamic one that not only offers a continuous flow of information about us, but also about what's happening in the Germanic community as a whole.
